Oke so I have the following problem:

I wanted to download a driver and wasn't sure if it was a virus. In any case, I have it then trz. Made and turned off the Internet after the download to be on the safe side. During the installation it was said that I had to be connected to the internet, so I decided to delete the program again. However, I couldn't find it among the programs that can be uninstalled. I then opened the location where the file was saved, deleted the file and also deleted it in the trash. After I switched the laptop on and off, the program opened again to complete the installation. I have now deactivated the autostart via the task manager, but I want to completely remove the program from my laptop. Can someone help me? ^^

You have initiated an installation process that does not end independently. This means that further data is downloaded from the network during the installation process. If you interrupt the internet connection, the installation process stops at the point where the missing data normally has to be downloaded. The installation process is now in a kind of limbo - started, but not quite finished.

The program is only displayed in the control panel (programs and features) when it is completely installed. Then you can de-install it there again.

What you deleted there was only the raw data for the installation. The data that has already been installed is now somewhere in the system, waiting to be completed. You will not be able to avoid installing the program completely, so that you can then properly de-install it again. Otherwise the Windows installation routine will remind you at every opportunity that something is still incomplete.

At some point you have to go online again, and then Windows will annoy you again!

In the future, you shouldn't select the "Execute" option for each download, but rather drag the data onto your computer using the "Save" option. In the context menu (right click on the downloaded data) you select the option "Check selected data with… (your virus software)". If the scanner has not found anything, you can install the data without worry!
