Dualcore CPU future-proof?

I need a simple notebook for office, internet, etc.

Question: How future-proof are dual-core processors? I have heard that some programs (or the operating system) will eventually no longer work with two cores? Is that true?

I want to be able to use Windows 10 and the current office and Internet browser without any problems for the next 5-10 years…

In the case of games, this is in any case the first games that no longer start on a two-core CPU.

With Windows, Internet and Office applications that hardly need any services, it is currently not foreseeable that this will be the case.

But to expect a notebook with 5-10 years of service life is blue-eyed. If a notebook lasts 5 years, it usually has Also done his service.

And planning over such a period is impossible.

Question: How future-proof are dual-core processors?

That is a dead child.

5-10 years of use

That's a goal!

And no, I would rely on at least a 4 core…

will no longer work with two cores?

I don't think so, because 1 core CPUs are still running today… But that's no fun.

Inexpensive 4 kernels are available for around 350-400 euro, but whether the 10 years will last? Then my glass ball says: I have no idea!

370 euro

4 cores 8 threads

Normal programs and operating systems will continue to support dual-core processors. However, systems with quad-core processors no longer cost the world.
