I got a laptop from my aunt. This is from her husband who died unfortunately and since she does not need him, because she does not really know that anyway, she has given him to me. Simply reinstall Windows, with Windows 10 you do not need to know the activation key. Windows 10 detects the hardware again and then activates automatically as soon as it hangs on the Internet.

In WIN10 I have not tried it, in XP you could still start with the admin prompt and then change the password.
In WIN 10 there's no longer this assignment but maybe you can still, if you insert the CD and there opens the console.
