To make it harder for digital burglars, I've followed the advice to always set up an admin user and a - let's call him "normal user" I work with but do not install any programs. On my laptop, which I use only as a reserve. So far so good.
But recently I was compulsorily requested by Windows to change my access password on the laptop and did the same (also a more difficult, longer one and wanted to create a recovery stick for me, because I do not actually write down passwords then the battery in my knees AND in the excitement I did not even remember the newly assigned password, just failed attempts, I thought, I would have to put the laptop up anew, but then I remembered that it was still the second administrator user, I let it rest for 2 months or so, but now I have to face the problem!
According to instructions in the network, I would have to give the local "normal user" just a new password, but unfortunately no, I can only change the account type on admin account - but that's probably no use to me.
Does anyone else have an idea?
Rebooting is so bad not only because of the reinstallation of all programs, but also because my Dropbox data takes almost 3 days to sync again - and before the Nextcloud setup (due to DSGVO) I dread it already.
If I understood your request correctly, that would be 30 seconds to find it out with Google:
As I wrote: "According to instructions in the network I would have to give the local" normal user "just a new password, but unfortunately no, I can only change the account type on admin account - but that's probably no use to me. "
Exactly this option is NOT available to me. Only the ability to change the account type. That's why I'm here looking for help!
Maybe these instructions are not up to date with Win10?
Okay, the only other thing I can think of is the fast password crack, as in the following guide. But that will be difficult (very long) if you have used a good password
Thanks for the try! But cracking takes probably as long as re-set up…
