A few weeks ago this problem with "Microsoft account needs to be repaired" appeared. I wanted to restore it, but the first problem was, my old number was still there. ðŸ˜
So I had to click on the other option called "I don't have this information anymore" and you have to confirm it online. I typed everything I could think of. Nevertheless, I received the message "We recently received a request to restore the Microsoft account… Unfortunately, our automatic system has determined that the information you have provided is not sufficient to identify you as the account holder."
From then on I saw that all my messages were deleted from the email. I'm still logged on to my laptop, but can no longer use it.
I have had this email for a long time, probably since 2011, and would like to be able to use it again because I'm also registered with many apps etc. Please can someone tell me how I can get it back? 😩😩😩😩
And one more question I still have a "Business email" there's also my old number. How can I change it before this message comes back? Not that I can no longer use them in the future

Had a similar problem years ago. Back then I called Microsoft or wrote email. They can reset your Pw after a few questions. I think I even had to upload my ID for identification.
