Can't move Fortnite from external hard drive to pc?

I set up my PC again 1-2 days ago and now wanted Fortnite (please don't have it because of my girlfriend.)

to install.

Had to pull it from my laptop to an external hard drive so I didn't have to download everything to my PC.

Now I did it like Lol.

Installation started then paused and copied the Fortnite folder from my external to the on PC and replaced the files.

But now when I start the epic launcher it checks briefly and then simply decides to download 40gb again and deletes the Fortnite data from my SSD.

Does anyone have any advice why this is so?

Back then I did the same thing when I put my laptop on and it worked.

You have to copy it to the correct file path / Programs / EpicGames then Fortnite then you should also set this in the launcher

Simply copying data back and forth usually doesn't work with something like that. When installing, things are stored / saved in the background etc.

In order for everything to run correctly, you would have to set file paths… Correctly

you have to drag Fortnite to the correct folder. This should be / Programs / EpicGames / FortniteGame.

I installed the Epic launcher on my SSD and also gave the correct path.

The game is actually copied.

But as soon as he checks whether the data is there, he deletes the copied data from the folder and downloads everything again

I don't have the Epicgames folder under Programs.

Chose during installation that it is on a separate SSD.
and do everything exactly as always.

Just this time it kind of faxes.

Ansich Windows often causes problems this time after the new installation

You can't move programs to another disk in Windows. Usually, many entries including the drive name are entered in the registry for each program, unless the program would be portable or the new drive was given the same letter as the old one. To do this, you would of course have to have deactivated the old one.

A friend of mine had saved it under / Games. It didn't work there. Save it under programs, that will solve the problem. It's best to reinstall it under Programs.

But then the game on a different SSD?
I only have 240gb on my boot SD and would be reluctant to install it there

?

Programs not.

However, you can save the game data on an external hard drive.

I did this with Lol and it works perfectly.

Only at fortnite there are problems with the game
