I want to get a big hard drive in the near future so that I can back up and save the files from my laptop there in the future.
The laptop is no longer the youngest and sometimes crashes. (Windows 10 operating system)
How dangerous is it to the external hard drive to cut off the power supply?
And are there hard drives with an external power supply? Is that perhaps more recommendable?
A hard drive with an external power supply makes more sense.
Of course there's also a power supply. But when Windows 10 crashes, the hard drive is still powered. So that doesn't matter.
Unless there's a data transfer to the external hard drive or the other way around, not much happens.
