I will soon need a laptop for school and have had a look around at various dealers. I found an interesting product. The Lenovo Ideapad L340 Gaming. What I'm looking for is a laptop that I can play well with and also do my work for school.
Now I ask myself: Is a gaming notebook (in general) also well suited for programming (with e.g. Unity), Photoshop, Microsoft Office etc.
Would be nice if someone with experience could give me an answer.
It is quite suitable. I don't know if the notebook meets its gaming requirements, a GTX 1650 seems to be the greatest feeling here.
Why not a tower PC?
Basically, a gaming notebook probably doesn't have any problems doing simple work (although Photoshop and similar fun could be more demanding on certain components ^^)
The biggest problem I would see with the battery. A lot of power eats a lot of electricity, so you could probably drive better with an 0815 notebook if you are long and often disconnected from the power. The size itself would still be a "problem" for me. Most gaming notebooks are rather large and / or thick. For me to work unnecessarily and sometimes uncomfortably when I e.g. Type and my arm should be too high. I like it very flat. And of course, rather less portable.
But if the 2 things are ok for you I spontaneously see nothing that would be bad.
Should I take a tower PC including monitor, keyboard and mouse to school or what? XD
Oh, he should go to school… Until I graduated from high school, I had a gaming laptop with me in school, an Asus G75VX-T4020H. The thing was felt like 4 kg, but I didn't need more…
On the one hand, this is not a "gaming" notebook, but at best a "gaming" entry-level notebook.
On the other hand, you will hardly have any joy at school with it, which will drain the battery faster than you can say beep.
For the money that such a turnip costs, I would take a small "gaming" PC… Approx. 520 euro + a 300 euro notebook for school.
Even the 520 euro PC should have more power. As the notebook.
