Why is my laptop running so slowly?

Almost new Lenovo Yoga and somehow it is responding very slowly, the text here I write with a delay of ~ a quarter of a second, which is not normal at all. The FPS number is in a noticeably low range, it runs totally hot and I've already jacked it up a bit so that it doesn't melt. I'm currently playing a multiplayer game with a friend and talking to him about Discord, but it couldn't be because of the game, otherwise it was always smooth.

Closing the task manager alone got stuck…

According to Task Manager, 71% of CPU, 51% of RAM and 99% GPU are used. What can that be? I have a Lenovo Yoga 530 with an Intel i5 8th Gen at 1.60 GHz with 16 GB RAM and an Intel UHD Graphics 620 and yet it responds as quickly as my grandma's Medion Akoya.

Es

You can see which application has 99% GPU

Es

And if it's your game, you'd better shut it down

br

This is an office notebook and approx. 0% suitable for games. This is due to the really rübingen iGPU from INTEL (graphics chip).

Lo

That's probably because of the game. The iGPU is not suitable for playing. What kind of game is this?

cy

Hmm, I thought it would work out fine 🤔 Thank you! 👍

cy

Thank you! 👍 The game is Stellaris, more information in the supplement

cy

Thanks! 👍

Ca

Your laptop is too bad for Stellaris.

Also check if there's an update in the background. This also slows down a PC.

cy

I now gave the laptop off ➡️ supplement

Lo

Are there any graphics settings and resolutions in the game?

cy

Thank you! 👍 So many others have told me now, I thought the GPU and so would be quite good.

cy

I guess, but haven't looked for anything like that yet

Es

Yes, if the game takes 100% GPU, then you should close it.

cy

That makes sense.

Lo

So, I checked the minimum requirements. With the GPU, that would be an Nvidia GeForce GTX 460, which is more than twice as fast as the integrated UHD 620 graphics unit. Here is a comparison of the GTX 460 and your iGPU:

Ui.

cy

I probably need something else.
