Dear adviser community,
I borrowed my laptop (Lenovo) to a friend for some time. He created an account there that he doesn't have to use my account. When I wanted him back, he asked me if he could reset the laptop so that, among other things, his account on it virtually disappeared. As a result, he wanted to start up the laptop as usual and the problem arose that two passwords had to be entered. Does not boot up the BIOS. Power button flashes, you can't hear the laptop. He knows 2 passwords one (system password) only knows the second one (hard disk security. You always see these picture sequences when rebooting (picture attachment). He says he has not set it up and he would pay for it in the event of a cost-related repair! It may be if he supposedly has not created something like this, such a password appears. Can you help me? Also how I can possibly work around it? Thanks in advance!
When does this occur? After resetting? Because you write that as if he wanted to reset it and suddenly the password happens?
I think that's how it came about

maybe he did a BIOS reset and now the hard drive would like to have the password.
So here the hard disk encryption was activated when the system was restarted. If you don't know the PW now, the only thing that helps is to insert the recovery button / DVD / USB and set up the operating system again. You won't have any data loss anyway, since everything is already gone through the factory restore…
