I have an old laptop on which I have two BIOS passwords: the user password, and the supervisor password. I know the user password, but when I set the supervisor password, I mistyped myself… I took out the BIOS battery and started the computer (without the BIOS battery). Password still there… How can I remove the password?
Did you also set the jumper for the CMOS reset? Of course, only "taking out the battery" is not enough.
Sorry, no jumper… The battery was about 12 hours outside…
With lappis you often have close to the battery two contacts that you have to bridge briefly… Helps only google for your model or board and read how it works on your model
Also tried.
Since there are a variety of models so no one can help you
For a long time, notebooks no longer store BIOS passwords in CMOS but in a flash memory module so that you can't access them as a normal mortal.
Removing CMOS battery does not help with a forgotten BIOS password.
