Dear community,
I have a Lenovo n500 laptop and I have Windows 7 on it but I think that was after an update I wanted to start my laptop but everything was black I use an HDMI to DVI cable (laptop to monitor) because my laptop display is broken.
What I've already tried:
Use VGA cable / use HDMI cable.
Use another monitor.
Use Linux CD

Previous operating system: Windows Vista
Then I assume a board defect. Have all connections on the monitor been set correctly?
Yes all connections are correct I have checked this very often anyway thanks for your answer:]
Does the laptop show any other "signs of life" like a running fan or a light (e.g. CD drive)?
Does the laptop even light up? Can you hear the fan?
You can hear the fan, it lights up and the cd drive makes noise

Then the board is probably partially defective. A technician can exchange it, but this is no longer worthwhile with the device.
Ok thanks for your answer.
Do you know how I can still save the data?
Then at least a complete board defect seems to be ruled out for the time being. Does the laptop have a dedicated graphics unit?
Yes, no problem. If you have a SATA-to-USB adapter and a working PC, you can remove the disk. Pay attention to the connection. If it consists of many small pins, it is an IDE / PATA connector. If there are two lines, it is a SATA connector.
Thank you very much.
