Which operating system should I use?

I recently found an old laptop and now I don't know which operating system to install.

32bit

It would be best if it is an operating system that consumes few resources so that you can run at least a small local MySQL database. Which would be nice if you can install Java + Eclipse or IntelJ.

A Linux distro with Xfce should run fine with it.

I would install Windows 10 32 bit

If nothing works anymore take tiny core linux otherwise pop os or manjaro

Ne linux distro would work fine there. I can't recommend Windows for the hardware.

How can it be 64 bit? Thought it would be 32bit, of course that changes a lot. Then I'll try Ubuntu.

Processors that can only do 32bit have not been around since 2001.

The last ones were the Pentium4 and the Athlon XP.

Everything that came after that is 64bit capable.

Ok sry I know myself so well then from xD I think I confused it with that because Windows Vista was 32 bit on it

Classic Ubuntu, otherwise I personally like Mint and Fedora. But ultimately you have to decide for yourself
