I have a gaming laptop that has a GTX 960m, an I7 4720hq and 8gb ddr3 ram and doesn't pack any games alone already at the start the fan turns on games like Counter Strike Are there 120 fps on medium to low settings but it drops so often 20-30 fps and if it is 120 fps it looks like it is 20 fps I can compare it on the pc also 120 fps and it looks much better actually the laptop should pack the bag loosely but it is unplayable! Even GTA V should run but even the mouse is lying in normal operation the fan somehow works in one cycle loud quiet loud loud quiet in normal operation without playing.
What I've already done is:
Everything driver updated
Let CCleaner run through
Laptop completely cleaned fan etc.
No damage to the graphics chip or processor was found except for the cooling paste, which was extremely dry
Energy saving options screwed to high performance (laptop is on the power supply)
Drops in CS: GO until the 20s on medium to Niedirg almost sounds like a defective fan.
But is difficult by remote diagnosis.
What do the temps look like? Is the CPU or GPU throttling heavily?
Strangely, I had the pc checked with the lenovo tool and there the fan was not shown at all, but the fan works somehow but not as it should
So the questions was just a guess.
The laptop doesn't pack it even if you disagree.
The main problem is the Mobile I7 and the neutered GTX graphics card from Nvidia.
Even if you increased the memory to 16 GB, it would not work.
You can try to reinstall Windows and get the latest drivers, but that wouldn't work either.
GTA 5 runs at 45 Fps with high settings why shouldn't counter strike pack it let's be honest even the old 860m models pack cs go and the laptop still costs 400 euro used with the specs
