My girlfriend wants to order a laptop for the school extra. He should be small and slim and of course have office programs.
Are there any laptops you can have on your office without having a certain period of time to use it?
the laptop should cost up to 600 euro
When buying a notebook, do not pay attention to whether an MS Office is included.
You can install something like that at any time.
And there are also alternatives to MS Office:
LibreOffice (https://www.libreoffice.org/)
Softmaker Office 2019 (pro) (https://www.softmaker.de/softmaker-office)
LibreOffice is completely free and the Softmaker Office (pro) includes an excellent spelling and grammar correction (Duden corrector). MS Office can't keep up with that.
The free FreeOffice 2018 is a slightly older and stripped-down version of Softmaker Office (Standard). You can already try it around a bit.

These devices have only temporary trial versions of MS Office on board. In my opinion, if the school insists on certain software, it also has to make sure that it has to be available to all students free of charge. I can recommend you the Opensource Office package LibreOffice. With it you can also open MS Office documents and save them as such. This works with doc as well as with docx documents.
There's also an MS Office version for students, but not for free but cheaper.

It is best to buy a model without an operating system on it. Then create a bootable DVD or USB stick and install itself, for example. This Linux distribution on it.

The Mate version is the better one.
It's all free
Everything important for the installation can be found under Downloads -> Documentation -> German
In Linux Mint Mate the Office program Libre Office is free of charge. It can be used indefinitely and has no time limitations, does not need to be registered or gets a key anywhere.
Linux can also be easily installed by any beginner besides Windos. Simply boot from the Mint DVD, try it out (before installation), click Install on the desktop, select "next to legacy system…". The rest is very easy.
