Years ago I bought the full version of Microsoft Office on my Hp laptop. Now I have bought a MacBook Air 2020 and wanted to log into Word. I only get the message "No subscription was found", but when I log on to a Hp laptop everything works fine. I had already logged off from all devices, because I thought it might work. A few months ago I had the same problem on my iPhone, that it said I didn't have a subscription, which has always worked before. However, I now need my subscription for school and I don't feel like buying an expensive new one if I already have a subscription and the problem may still exist. I would be very grateful for any help.
Do you have a subscription for multiple installations - the HP laptop and a MacBook? If you only have a single subscription, you'll need one more for MacBook. IPhone does not need a specific subscription.
I have a "family subscription" - you can register up to 6 devices (Windows or MacOS) on it.
With the normal subscription you can only log in to one device. So you need a new license
So do I need a new one if I have logged out of the other device?
If you really shouldn't - then only a single subscription is active. Does your subscription cover MacOS?
I have Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. But it only works on Windows PCs and my Mac or iPhone never accept it. I also signed out everywhere.
Years ago, I bought the full version of Microsoft Office on my HP laptop
In addition to what the previous speakers have already said, there's a difference between "I bought it" and the subscription variant!
Years ago you could still buy Office, but I think it was changed in 2015/2016 so that there's only one subscription model. Office365 costs exactly 69 euro / year for one device (as described by the others).
There's only a purchase version for the Mac (you always have to buy 1x), but you have to buy it again, regardless of whether you bought a Windows license years ago.
If you want a subscription for the Mac now, you have to take out a new subscription for 69 euro / year.
Hm - don't know anymore. Office usually accepts installation on a MacBook. Did you go to your Office page from your MacBook and called up the installation?
No, I have the Word app from the app store.
No, you have to buy a new license for Mac because he bought a full version at the time and not an annual subscription.
I bought Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2016. As far as I know, you can still buy it.
Log into the Office website with your account and go to "Devices" or "Install". Office should then be installed on the device from which you are logged in - provided there's a free license. - Tip: if you use multiple devices, get a family license. You can also let other people participate. My account is my PC, my MacBook under MacOS, the Windows partition on my MacBook, my wife and my son.
Ah yes - that could be. I've had a family subscription for years, so that didn't bother me. Good to know - thank you!
Yes, there are still old licenses. But one thing has nothing to do with the other 🤷🏻♂️
If you want a license for a Mac, then you absolutely need a Mac license. The Office license you bought back then is tied to Windows.
Office365 is its own product in the form of a subscription model; this subscription works equally on both systems.
For the Mac you also get licenses without a subscription model, but then you have to forego certain features compared to the subscription version.
But no matter how you turn it, it will only work if you take out a new subscription or buy a new Mac license.
Yes, in the subscription model as you have it, it's sausage, only the number of devices counts here. It does not separate between Mac license and Win license.
The questioner did not take out a subscription at the time, which is why he is bound. Subscription model users don't have this problem, they can install as they want, as long as they have a device free 👌🏽
