I bought a laptop for 700 euro on eBay the day before yesterday.
Under payments stood in the auction that this should clarify this with the seller. Which I did not have on eBay
Yesterday came a private message with the account data, I should transfer because there's no paypal available.
I have then seen through the IBAN number that it is an account with the Fidor Bank. Then found out that this is popular on eBay cheat.
Of course have not yet transferred, but do not really know what to do. How can I secure myself? Withdraw from the purchase?
Would be glad about advice
Thank you!
UPDATE
Turned out to be a cheater who hacked the ebay account of a 3 person and started a fake auction with that identity… And the Fidor Bank has confirmed its reputation as the favorite eBay fraudster bank. ✌
Whatever you do. I would never transfer such a large amount to a private account. Only via paypal.

I can't say anything, I've also never experienced and am surprised. Alone, would have stopped me from a purchase.
Under no circumstances transfer!

I have offered in the evening with the cell phone after a few glasses of wine in the circle of acquaintances were empty and I noticed it only after I have made my bid. What I have annoyed me then of course immediately about myself.
Would it perhaps make sense to write to the seller and let him know of my skepticism?
I will do that too if I do not get another piece of advice
If you want to give it another chance, you can try it. For me, the matter would be done. I would risk opening a non-payer case. 700 euro would be too much for me, for such a leap of faith.
What could come to me if I let it happen on a non-payer case?
Theoretically, the seller could sue for your payment. This is extremely unlikely. It would be much easier for him to cancel the purchase (so you could possibly ask him) and offer the laptop to Ebayer with the second highest bid.
If the seller raises a case for non-payment, this would be noted in your Ebay CV. If you happen to have two such cases, you would not be able to participate in many auctions, because then you would automatically land on the blacklist of many Ebayers. In my view, these are manageable consequences.
Actually, I never advise you to an article that has been auctioned not to pay. But in your case it really seems to me the best.
But wait for a few other answers, maybe the strange notes on the payment can be explained anyway somehow.
I have always been a serious buyer on eBay and have never had any problems.
The seller grad offered me to send the laptop by last name or just create a PayPal account, have called him the reasons of my skepticism.
In the first message, he said he would like to readjust the article and now he thinks he also wants to take a photo of his identity card.
Basically, you have an effective sales contract.
As a private seller I offer on ebay not Paypal as a payment method, because you can easily be ripped off as a seller.
Look at the seller's rating profile and decide if you want to trust him or not. At the bank account I would not fix that.
Yes, I'm aware of that. I'm also willing to pay but also skeptical because of the reasons already mentioned.
Has 120 positive reviews. I would also send a photo of the ID card.
