Playing Dead by Daylight on the laptop?

I always wanted to play Dbd (= play Dead by daylight). I bought it on Steam on my laptop, when I opened it I realized how slow it was. It was sooo slow I couldn't even quit it very location. Why is that? And how can I play it without it being so slow? Is there a "cheap" option? I need help. One more thing, I don't know a lot about computers and stuff.

If your laptop is too bad, all you can do is buy a new one. (Or buy an external graphics card)
