I have a laptop with a docking station and a desktop PC. I have two screens in total. I would like to either work with the laptop or with the desktop PC. It is either the PC on OR the laptop. It is not necessary to switch over during operation. I would like to use the two screens (image expanded, not mirrored)
Docking station (1x DVI-D, 1xHDMi)
Pc (1xDVI, 1xVGA)
Screens (each 1x DVI and 1xVGA)
The Pc is currently connected via Dvi and VGA
The laptop or docking station is connected via a DVi / HDmi cable (adapter cable) and a normal DVi cable.
The problem: Currently I have to plug the normal DVI cable every day (from docking station to PC). My research has shown that a DVI splitter or Y-piece would not help here. Is that correct? Does anyone have any ideas?
The most elegant solution would be a KVM switch that supports 2 monitors.
It then also switches the mouse and keyboard between your two computers.
