I plan to sell my laptop but I don't want to lose my data. Is there a way how i can practically save my entire computer in the cloud and then when i have my new pc restore everything? Best of course free or cheap. I don't have the new PC yet.
As far as I know there's a hard drive in the laptop and everything is stored on it. You could take it out and then simply make it into your new one?
The plan with the cloud sounds good.
there you can save all the data that is important to you. With a Google search you will find many free providers.
For "the entire PC" including operating system or similar But that would not be an option.
You can either remove the hard drive (and replace it with an empty one) or wait until the new pc is there, mirror both hard drives and then delete the old one.
That's the problem, I want to sell the laptop including ssd
But keep in mind that you will then have to reactivate Windows or have to deal with support.
Hmm… This will be difficult.
You could already replace the hard drives as far as possible.
I would get professional help
Why is that a problem? If you put a new one in there's another one.
You can save your data on a USB stick or an external hard drive. You should do this regularly as a backup anyway, because SSDs tend to break from one second to the next.
"Back up the whole PC" means that you want the operating system to be safe too. What for? Do you use windows Do you want to sell the laptop with the operating system? Then there would be two copies of the same license after cloning and that would be illegal.
The easiest would be to buy a new one and exchange it…
