I wanted to try today's driver update (FreeSync with Nvidia Geforce). My question:

Is this function also available for laptops? Has anyone tried it?

Only if your screen supports FreeSync. This will hardly be the case with a laptop with Nvidia graphics card. Unless you plug in an external monitor via DisplayPort that supports FreeSync.
