What is the point of that (school) anyway?

We're currently doing excel in EDV and our teacher wants us to do the things in class at home to practice.

The problem is more than half of the class doesn't have Excel and some don't have a PC / laptop at home. But she still wants us to help each other and that the people who have Excel should meet those who do not have it and learn it together with them

Due to the coronavirus, it doesn't make sense you shouldn't meet with many people from different households and some are risk patients or have some in the family and there are also some who live in risk areas (including me)

To be honest, it stimulates me that education is more important to the teacher than health

What is your opinion about this?

I can only speak from experience: Learn Excel. Get a cheap license or the free version of OpenOffice.

That you get to learn the basics of life. I claim that 60-70% of what you learn is ultimately needed little or rarely. Unless I work in relevant scientific or technical professions. If you choose to study higher mathematics at the university.

At many schools, students can get Office365 licenses cheaply or even free of charge. This can then be used on up to 5 devices with Windows / macOS / iOS / iPadOS / Android.

I have open office but I don't have to pay money for it every year. In my opinion, this subscription makes no sense. If it had stayed the same as it was then: pay once and nothing more then I would have got it but not like that
