Umzwar it is about the fact that I have just plugged my laptop power cord into the socket and then the fuse has flown out and my cable has now burned blotches stain (see picture in the appendix). Can I still use them or is it in the bucket, since I strongly assume that the socket has a quirk.
If the outlet "explodes", I think that it still works, if it was the power adapter that made the appearance of being damaged, then of course not.
So yes?
Try on another outlet, e.g. In the bathroom, but beware: not on flammable ground and not connected to the laptop.
And I would absolutely let the landlord to send an electrician, something like that should not happen.
A power outlet can't be so broken that it breaks a power supply. Either the power supply itself is defective and has caused a short circuit, or the socket is defective, and has a short circuit internally, if something is plugged.
I suppose the stains are at the contact tips of the power supply. Since no picture is available, so you can only guess. I tend rather to defective power supply, since there are many components in it, which can trigger a short circuit. In contrast, a defect in the socket would only be possible through massive violence, and you would see that, or something would have gone wrong with installation, and then it would have to be defective from the start. Just so no outlet is broken…
