I have a question about booting on my laptop.
The following: every time the device has been off for a while (e.g. Overnight) and I start it up, the message "Default Boot Device is Missing or Boot Failed" appears. I will then be directed to the BIOS where I should choose a path or recovery media from which to boot. If I restart the device at this point, the boat runs smoothly. The message only appears on the first restart after the device has been off for a while.
After doing online research, I tried to change the boot order of the hard drives in the BIOS. I noticed that only my 1TB-HDD is listed there. The SSD (on which the operating system is also installed) is not included in the BIOS. Which I don't understand, because the SSD still boots.
Does somebody has any idea?
This can be a defect of the SSD itself. Or on the operating system installed on it.
In theory, it could also be the connection for the SSD on the laptop. Try to re-plug the SSD and maybe even alone without booting the HDD.
Maybe it's just a little wobble because the SSD is not properly plugged in.
The funny thing is, I recently sent the laptop in because of this error for the purpose of guarantee, allegedly the SSD was replaced.
The problem is now less common (before it was e.g. Whenever I used the energy saving mode), but it is not gone.
Sounds almost as if the SSD doesn't "wake up" fast enough.
Have you ever googled if this is a known problem with this laptop type with SSD?
