Question about Windows 7 repair installation?

I would like to perform a repair installation of Win 7. So created bootable USB stick with exactly the ISO, from which I installed Win 7 back then. Then at the repair attempt came directly at the beginning of the message that it was not possible because the currently used Windows version is more current than the version to be upgraded to (you have to select the repair so "upgrade").

Then I looked at the Internet and found that you have to first uninstall the SP 1 and then the repair will work.

I then uninstalled the SP 1 and the repair shows the same error (newer version, etc.).

What else could be the reason? It is said to be the ISO from which the OS was installed on my notebook.

The box seems to have moved so that a new installation will probably be the best solution. Save your data first.
