I want to render 4K videos with sony vegas, are 16GB sufficient or will the laptop not be able to stand it and would therefore need 32GB? I don't want to do anything else at the same time, except just to have it rendered.

What about the processor and graphics card in the laptop?
16GB bring nothing if only a Pentium or i3 works in the notebook.

For a 4-minute video in high quality 4K with 2.1 GB size, it took a good 3 minutes in Premiere Pro 2019.
So 16gb will be enough
