Minecraft?

Does the Minecraft demo need as much processor / GPU performance on high settings as playing online on servers with low settings? I only ask because the demo worked amazingly well on my laptop and I want to know whether I can play well online with it.

So if you play on larger servers, the game needs more performance from all the players, the detailed maps such as the lobby etc.

The demo has the same settings as the full version.
