How do I persuade my mom to lift my computer ban?

I played computer with a friend yesterday. At some point my mother came into my room and said that I should turn it off (my computer). Whereupon I said yes right away. (I would have turned it off then) But she just took it and went away with my laptop.

Work out times with your mother about when and how long you will play and also give something in return.

e.g. You help around the house, learn enough, etc.

And then the advantages of desktop computers become very clear again.
