Yesterday the battery of my smartphone was completely empty. Have it connected to the charging cable. It showed for half an hour that it loads. But did not go on… Until now. Have tried to restore it but my laptop does not recognize the device because it is apparently empty… Can it be that I should replace my battery? Meanwhile many thanks for the reply's

Even if the PC does not recognize the device, it is often something more serious. Therefore, the dealer or the Apple Store is probably the best choice to see what is broken.

Switch-on attempts at (almost) empty battery drive the deep discharge and thus death. Deep-discharged batteries can't be charged with reasonable electronics since there's a risk of drowning.

So would a battery exchange help?

be

Probably yes. Chance more than 90%

Then I'll drop by at media market. Have already exchanged two times battery, but once it did not work XD.

Forgot to answer here again it was neither the battery nor the charging socket. The problem was quite simple to solve… It just got a little dusty with time in the charging socket so the phone just could not be loaded. A simple toothpick could fix the problem XD
