I know that this question has definitely been asked a thousand times, but I'm so slow at my end. I would like to drag pictures and video files from my Iphone 7 to my Windows laptop because I'm switching to a new device. I've already tried it by connecting my iPhone to the laptop with a cable and then wanted to drag the files over. Unfortunately only worked for a few pictures. After that, I had problems that my laptop could no longer recognize my iPhone as a data carrier.
Unfortunately, the option to drag the images over to the laptop via an iTunes app did not work either. I kept getting error messages.
Do you have any further ideas or tips on what I could do differently?
I have also seen that there are some apps that are supposed to be suitable for dragging files from an Iphone to a Windows device. Most apps, however, limited the number to 100 files or the like. Since I have almost 1000 files, that would be really too time-consuming. Does it work somehow via Icloud or Dropbox or are there too many files for that?
I'm really grateful for any help!
Surely you have saved your pictures & videos in the "iCloud", this is the easiest way to work.
Here are the instructions for this: https://support.apple.com/...e/HT205323
Launch the Dropbox app on the iPhone and set up photo synchronization. Then you can drag the photos over on the PC.
The limiting factor is not the number of files but the total size.
Apple and Android. Two worlds collide.
Do you notice anything? Apple is a single company. Anfroid is Samsung, Huawei, Sony, and all others.
Aple will always do anything to shut out the rest of the world.
Every Android connected as an external hard drive. Every PC without a driver sees it as an external hard drive.
Apple never goes without a special program without being monitored by Apple.
Your only option. Upload to a cloud, then download from it.
And then. Throw the apple into the river.
Each
Smartphone can transfer everything without a driver as a drive. Apple doesn't.
How sad.
And business conduct is also supported by others.
It's like Donald Thrump. Still has a lot of stupid followers.
I completely agree! Definitely an aspect I have about Apple. However, I have to say that the virus protection on Apple devices in particular is almost unbeatable. This, in turn, is one of the main reasons I choose Apple.
Due to the poor compatibility with other devices, etc. I stay away from Apple on my laptop / PC
When I get a comment, I usually expect a bad one. I always think to myself. "I have to go through that too."
I repaired Aple for 4 years. I'm not just doing that publicly here.
Unfortunately, I'm familiar with Apple's strategy. Everything incompatible.
A headset from Apple is polarized differently than one from Android. The main thing is incompatible.
One year warranty only.
Apple only allows itself to do this in Germany because you have to prove a manufacturing defect in the 2nd year… Nobody can.
A law of industry.
Buy an Apple in Denmark… Oh wonder. FULL 2 year guarantee.
Anyone who gives less will be sued here.
So much for Apple.
Where is something from Android? 🤔
I admit it has gotten more difficult somehow… But it works… (have been doing this for 12 years)
Connect the iPhone to the PC… Explorer under Windows… I always copy the subdirectories of DCIM one by one… Depending on how many pictures are in the folder… Are there too many… Well over 1000 … I also split it up again…
Some time ago I got the tip… On the iPhone under Settings - Photos… Transfer to Mac or PC to activate the "Keep originals" option… This definitely works better…
I also tried to connect that with the iPhone and copy the DCIM subdirectories. One subdirectory worked, then there were always problems… A subdirectory had a maximum of 200 files.
Try the setting on the iPhone… It has definitely worked better for me since then…
