I have the following problem with my laptop: when I plug in my headset it does not recognize it so the sound comes from the laptop speakers and not from the headset. Now I would like to know whether my jack socket is now broken or what else might be the cause.
I have already tested the headset on another device and it still works.

I checked it out and cleaned it a little with a brush, it didn't use anything and I found a suitable software, thanks anyway.
As such, this can't be answered.
What exactly does your headset connection and your laptop connection look like?
Are they 4 pins each or e.g. The laptop has a 3 pin connector, but your headset 4?
