Laptop beeps quietly?

Day people!

I have a very strange problem:

My laptop, about one year old, has the strange habit of beeping / whirring quietly all the time. The funny thing is that he only does this when he's underutilized. So as soon as I start a program, it stops beeping. As soon as the program is open and loaded, it starts again. When I watch a movie or something, it stops doing it. It does not matter whether it is currently infected or not.

It doesn't really bother me now since it is hardly audible, but I still wanted to ask if anyone has any idea what that might be…

For info:

Intel i5-8265UC

Intel UHD Graphics 620

8 GB RAM

512 GB SSD

Maybe he just feels good and is beeping?

fun aside: it will be due to some component (possibly the power supply, or that of the main board), that when there's no load there will be a whistle due to vibrations. If it's only a year, you may still have a guarantee. I would complain to you as soon as possible (some notebooks only have a 1 year warranty!).

I've heard of the processor beeping / beeping, but it's not bad or anything, it can only be annoying.

How it occurs is different, sometimes always, sometimes only under load, etc.

This beeping is triggered by mechanical vibrations on the voltage transformers. Then it is typical that this only happens under very specific load conditions - in your case, at idle.

Some craft professionals get this under control by dripping superglue on certain coils and capacitors. You can also destroy the board with the wrong solvents.

If the noise is very distracting, it can be a reason for an exchange.
