I recently bought an office 2019 home and students license for a 1PC. But I use 2 laptops and it was strange to activate it on both devices. What is the catch?
It's kind of weird. The keys apply to an infinite number of devices.
You have to read the license conditions carefully.
1 user e.g. Doesn't mean 1 PC.
For example, the Office 365 license terms state that the license can be activated for one user on 5 devices. This is then also linked to an office account.
If you can really only activate it on a PC, then you have not yet reached the activation limit. When this is done you have to go through phone activation etc.
