Will this pc work fine?

I'm building a relatively cheap PC at the moment because I mostly play on the PS5. But that doesn't mean that the PC shouldn't be able to play games! I would like to play GTA V Roleplay with it (I only mentioned that because this will be the most expensive for the PC).

I value a fast and reliable PC with which I can work quickly because I'm in high school and I just don't feel like a laptop anymore. I don't understand at all with oc (overclocking) etc. And don't even know what to do next once the computer is assembled: //

From BIOS etc. I have no idea how to synchronize anything (?) Or not at all. I want to assemble the PC and get started without having to worry too much about it.

Now finally to the specs:

Ryzen 3 3200g (who would have thought.)

MSI B450M PRO-VDH MAX

16 GB (2x8 GB) 3000 Mhz Aegis RAM

512 GB Patriot P300 SSD

BE QUIET 400 watt power supply

antec nx100

Did I forgot something? No idea, if so, please let me know, I'll add it immediately!

Kr

Is just hard cheap. Would at least try to get a used 3400g

br

This is clearly a very good office PC and very fast. However, only very limited suitability for gaming (this is due to the lack of an extra graphics card). Games like GTA V will run at a lower setting.

An extra graphics card would make everything easier. A GTX1650 4GB is inexpensive and usable to start with

au

Thank you very much. Are there things that I have to do when the computer is down? I can set up Windows, but that's about it. I don't know my way around the BIOS and things at all and somehow (I can't explain myself) an inhibition threshold (?) If you can call it that. Any tips or steps to consider?

Ca

I recommend another CPU (without internal GPU) and an extra graphics card

E.g.:
Ryzen 5 2600
RX 570 or 580

au

I think that would be beyond my budget: /

But I like to read in and take a closer look at the prices, thank you very much. I will consider it.

Fo

You can do it like that, but would rather buy a used RX 570 8GB for 70-100 euro.

au

Another user has already suggested it, so it seems to work well ^^

Ca

Then I advise you to save a little before you spend some money that you can't do much with

If you stick with the motherboard:
https://de.msi.com/Motherboard/support/B450M-PRO-VDH-MAX#down-driver&Win10%2064
Download and install all the drivers listed there

au

Thanks. Can I drag the drivers onto a stick? How do I install them?

Co

Well, so-so. It is always difficult to give advice (which some people do anyway) if you don't know:

1.) Maximum price pain threshold?

2.) Is there already a monitor and if so which one or what resolution?

3.) Which games should run as smoothly as possible on the PC?

Shot from the hip, I would rather recommend the Ryzen 5 3400G, as it is soldered, and for the RAM you should use 3200MHZ bars, as they (still) cost almost the same (you do a lot in the browser and have a lot of TABS open, use 32 GB), and the power supply will not allow you to upgrade to a powerful, dedicated graphics card later!

These were just a few examples where I would think again!

MfG and a happy new year

Ca

Can you do
Downloads the drivers (except on-board VGA drivers if you choose a graphics card)
Unzip the files if they are .zip files
Click .exe and follow the installation process, as it is with other programs

If you choose a graphics card, you'll have to play the same game again
On the manufacturer's page, look for your GPU model, download and install everything under Support / Drivers

au

Thanks for the detailed answer! I'll try to answer the questions for you as well as for me:

1.) already exhausted * cough cough *

2.) Yes, a 27 "AOC 1080p 60hz and an msi 23.4" 1080p 144hz

3.) GTA V Roleplay is no longer applicable. Then I'm interested in Minecraft and a few MMORPG games, nothing wild.

then I'll take the 3200 MHz variant, thank you very much! A better power supply is also determined directly! Is 500 watt enough?

au

Thank you, I'll watch a few more YouTube videos and then it should work.

au

Sorry to bother you again, but which 3200 MHz RAM would you recommend?

Co

1.) You have not given a sum. Unfortunately, the word "exhausted" has very little meaning! ^^

2.) 2 full HD screens? Then note that this MSI board has 1X VGA, 1X DVI and 1X HDMI each in order to be able to connect these monitors (or you have to work with adapters / adapter cables). It is good, however, that Full HD does not require as much graphics performance, which means that the integrated graphics should be enough for a lot (even if not always for the highest details)!

3.) You think Minecraft doesn't demand your hardware? Nothing! * laugh * As soon as you use shader packs and texture packs (512X512), the performance can't be high enough; … Believe me!

4.) A BeQuiet Pure Power with 600 watts costs around 8 euro more than the one with 500 watts. It not only offers you more rails but also a little more connection options. Yes, currently it is / would still be overpowered, but later you can retrofit a more powerful graphics card without having to retrofit the power supply again. But under no circumstances should you buy a "System-Power" from beQuiet!

au

Thank you for your detailed answers! ^^

1.) I would not like to spend more than 400 euro. With Windows and other things that go with it, there's not much room left: /

2.) Yes, two full hd screens. One for the pc and one for the console. I will then connect the console with hdmi and the mainboard too.

3.) I will have to do without a lot, if it worked on my old toshiba laptop back in 2014 that will have to be enough here.

4.) you have convinced me, it will be a 600 watt be quiet.

another question from me: which RAM would you recommend? 3200 mhz would be a lot smarter than 3000 or not? Which RAM would you recommend for this?

au

Are you sure that this will work? Is it also recognized directly by the mainboard?

Ca

Sorry, won't quite work
For the mainboard it goes well, but a Ryzen 5 2600 would only support a maximum of 2933 MHz
So look for either better CPU or RAM with a lower clock speed

au

Then I take a better cpu. Thank you for checking out again for me. I think I have my config. Right now.

Co

The motherboard does not have 2 HDMI connections, but only one. Either you plug (if necessary) between the console and the PC, or you use an adapter for one of the two!

If you were able to play "your" Minecraft smoothly (without stuttering) with a 2014 Toshiba laptop, the PC can do it all the more. It depends on how you play Minecraft. In its original state, it hardly eats up any performance. But if you want it to be "SPARKLING" (with additional packs), you can quickly reach the limits even with a stronger system!

As far as the RAM is concerned, I said at the beginning that I would recommend 3200MHz bars, as the price difference is almost ZERO!

Furthermore, I can only strongly recommend that you buy the RAM FIRST if you buy your new PC in stages! Why? Because RAM will soon be much more expensive (+ 100% are possible). So start with the RAM, and please don't ask me how I know!

This is always difficult with recommendations… But if you want a RAM that is relatively cheap, solid and as compatible as possible, take a "Crucial Ballistix"!

au

But I said that I use one monitor for my PlayStation and the other monitor for the pc. I don't need two hdmi connections on the motherboard for this. I mentioned your recommendation regarding the rams, but still decided on the g.skill aegis 2x8gb 3200mhz. Thanks for your help, I think you helped me a lot with my configuration.

Co

I gladly did!

Have fun with your new system.

No. Everything really easy, actually. There are enough YT videos.
BIOS updates are not necessary.

Otherwise there's only one tip, always do everything in peace, no master has fallen from heaven yet.
