Connect PC to laptop for data transfer?

I know that it is possible, but I don't have a LAN connection on my laptop and my PC doesn't have Wi-Fi, so the two of them are probably not in the same network?

I don't have USB cables at hand

Is there any other option?

pa

Upload things to the cloud and download them to the other device

Vi

How is your laptop connected to the internet?

Sa

WLAN, but the PC only has LAN

Sa

It's more about the fact that I don't have to download anything (GTA V eg. It takes 12 hours)

Vi

But you are connected to the Wi-Fi from the router to which your PC is connected via LAN, yes?

Pe

If both are in the same network, then share a folder in both devices. Then you can access from one PC to another over the network.

If the two are connected to the same router, you can also transfer it over the network. I assume that the laptop is connected via WLAN with the same router as the PC with the cable

Sa

Right

Li

No wrong.

Vi

Then they should be in the same network. To check this, you can enter ipconfig on the laptop in cmd and ping the IPv4 address from the PC in cmd with ping IP-ADDRESS.

Ta

Plug the LAN cable from the PC into the LAN socket of the router… Done

Sa

How exactly do I do that with the ping?

Vi

Do you have the ip address from the laptop?

Sa

Yes

Sa

So I have now managed to ping. Now there's only packages sent = 4, received = 4 and what now? Sorry I'm totally technobno

Vi

That means they are in the same network. Otherwise it would have loaded forever.

Sa

Okay and what do i do now so that i can transfer the data from laptop to pc?

Vi
Sa

The pc is unfortunately not shown to me under "network". Only my laptop is shown on the pc and I have to enter username and password?

pa

Ok, it was with me after 2.5 hours

lo

If your pc is connected to the router via lan and your laptop via wlan, you should actually be in the same network. Unless you have a screened guest Wi-Fi in which you are.

Vi

Did you set the approvals accordingly?
