Windows 10? There are different settings for the brightness between battery and mains operation. So change the operating mode and see if that changes. Then, when you can see something, change your attitude to the way you see nothing.

Example: I had a notebook, since the brightness for network operation was set to 0 after an update. This is absolutely pointless, but Windows, well, Microsoft does not have it. So battery power started and changed in the power settings.
