Laptop / desktop for video editing?

I'm looking for a laptop or desktop for video editing.

The laptop should cost around 900 euro and the desktop around 300 euro.

I've been searching for days, but I'm never really sure, so I wanted to ask for suggestions.

Br

For 300 euro there's a PC with a Ryzen 3 with APU…

what kind of laptop should it be (gaming laptop, …)

br

Ryzen 4xxxu APU as the basis.

Re

Video editing? What videos are we talking about? H264? Mpeg? Divx? 1080p or Full HD or 4K videos?

So I do not know, but you need a video processing ne "fighting machine" with a decent CPU with a lot of computing power.

For 300 euro desktop you get a office machine for Excel and Word and Internet.

You can get a notebook for 900 euro, but for video editing?

Tell us what you want to do…

What do you mean by desktop? A desktop PC or a monitor?

You won't be able to do anything with a PC for 300 euro, since you'd rather have a 1200 euro laptop.

Desktop pc

Sc

Mainly mpeg in full hd, how much would the desktop cost?

Lo

Why can the desktop PC only cost 300 euro, but the laptop 900 euro?

Sc

The laptop would replace my current laptop, the desktop would also be purchased.

Re

Well, the performance of a CPU is important. Connoisseurs know that the instruction sets of the Intel i series make those useful for video editing that AMD does not have with its CPU's. So an i7 higher performance. Graphics card should take a nvidia GTX 1050TI. It is attractively priced and can help you with the processing. You don't need more graphics power. There should be a lot of RAM than 16 GB.

this one should meet your target criteria, take a closer look.

The former with Ryzen 4500u with 6 cores. Has the higher MultiCore performance.

Ly

Forget it there you will find nothing for good video editing. Computers for video editing start around 1200 euro.

Fo

It won't work. Better a decent laptop than having two bad devices.

Sc

Thank you.

Sc

And the graphics card: AMD Radeon RX 640 2048 MB is enough?

br

I can't say whether that's enough for you, it's also a question of whether you're doing your processing with a CPU or GPU.

Is actually slower than a Ryzen (approx. 20-25% in the MultiCore).

OK thanks.
