Which laptop for video editing Which laptop for video editing - 1

Hello,

I would like to buy as soon as possible a laptop with which I want to cut music videos (4K recordings). Because I hardly know anything about laptops, etc., I got advice from Apple, Saturn and Media Markt. Due to my budget of only 1300 Euro, the consultant recommended a MacBook Air for 1,349 Euro (technical details in the appendix).

At Media Markt I was recommended an Acer notebook Aspire 5 (details also attached)

The problem is that the consultants at Saturn and Media Markt have advised me against the Mac Book Air, because I can't get the price for the price like the Acer Aspire 5.

Personally, I would prefer a MacBook Air because of the aesthetics and the Apple editing program (Final Cut Pro) with which I get along well.

The consultants also said independently that the Mac Book would be sufficient for my purpose (cut 3-4 minutes of video).

Because I have no idea about laptops as I said, my question is what you would recommend to me between the two laptops and how you would act in the selection.

I thank you in advance for the answers.

ALL Macbook AIR are NOT suitable for DV editing, the "AIR" is already lightweight and there's no performance, which is designed for long battery life. Apple is not without reason the best seller for video editing devices, all cut on a Mac if it's supposed to be professional. The best video editing program in the world is only for Apple software, but with an Air you will not be happy, there it must be the pro. As I said, in your budget you will be happier with a "normal" laptop, put another 300 euro (then 1300) on it, then you will have twice the performance of the Air in a normal laptop.

Ja

Definitely not the macbook of the Acer has 4 merh kerne / Threads A Dedicated GPU which is useful in Photoshop a ssd as it should be and ram I can't read because unfortunately but with the new CPU it must be DDR4 Ram the Macbook in contrast has an outdated 2 core CPU with less core threads and clock slow ddr3 ram no Dedicated GPU and thus much less power just in Photoshop so do not do it to you and buy the acer of the thing is much better in every point except weight and cheaper and much better

the Macbook is unfortunately not what that is for n i5 but I know the apple installed the old if you can tell me which i5 has the Macbook I can compare it for you in benchmarks

Ha

The employees of Media Markt had a bit of a clue.

The MacBook Air has no dedicated graphics card and is against the Acer therefore a lame crutch, especially in DV editing.

But I would look at Notebooksbilliger times, because you get even better equipment for less money, e.g. This with a much better Nvidia GTX 1060 and a better 6-core processor:

With the Macbook you would still have to calculate the software for 329 euro on it, with Windows there are professional editing programs for 1/3 of the price.

Unfortunately, 8GB of memory, then this would perhaps be the better option.

Rather not, who has as well as the Media Market PC an ultra-power-saving processor, recognizable at the U behind the processor name. These processors generally have less power to save power. I would rather stay with the one I suggested to you and retrofit memory or take the next expensive model:

Installing memory card is super easy with the Acer Nitro and additional 8GB SO-DIMM DDR4 from Crucial cost only about 40 euro.
