For a short time my Xbox controller has stopped working on the PC when I connect it to the PC with a cable. The message "The last USB device that was connected to this computer did not work properly and is not recognized by Windows" always appears.
When I use the wireless controller with an adapter everything works and a few days ago I was able to play with cables without any problems.
The cable is not broken because I tried it on a cell phone for charging. I also tried to connect the controller to my laptop and got the same error message.
Does anyone know where the problem comes from and what can be done there?
Have you ever tried to update the controller? Recently had the same problem that my controller stopped working as it should from one day to the next. Cable was intact. I then updated the controller using the internet and everything was okay again.
Just tried and updated the controller. Unfortunately, it still only works with an adapter.
