I installed a second screen on my laptop. However, my second screen has a different resolution than my laptop, or I would like a completely different resolution for my monitor. How can I customize both?

You call up the screen settings, set it to "Extended Desktop", select the 2nd screen and you can change the resolution for it. For me it always chooses the optimal one on both screens.

Right click - display setting

Click on the desired monitor and set the desired value below for screen resolution.

But you also have to pay attention to the specification of your output - the resolution may be lower than on the laptop screen.

With regard to the built-in screen, laptops are set up differently than the usual graphics cards in computers, which can be set up on a wide variety of monitors.

when the drivers are installed, the resolution is usually at the highest, maximum possible level. Then you have to live with it on a second monitor, as the small graphics chip in the notebook can't do that.

Thank you so much for your answer.
The thing is that the best for my laptop is 1920x1080 and for my second monitor it is 1680x1050.

No matter what I change from it, the resolution is adopted for both screens.

The resolution of my monitor is lower than that of my laptop. Are there any problems?

Thank you so much for your answer. I found my mistake. It wasn't expand, so the setting was adopted for both screens.

That depends on the mode in which you operate your second monitor. Do you want the same thing to be seen on both monitors (clone screens), or do you want to extend your desktop onto the second screen? Different resolutions (provided by Windows) only work in the second scenario, i.e. When you extend the desktop and each monitor gets its 'own' picture.

Supi… Then it is solved.

Happy weekend.
