If my laptop breaks overnight, how can I get my documents?

How can I back it up in advance if that happens? Or are backups made there automatically?

If a pc breaks, no matter which one it doesn't mean that your hard disk is broken, simply remove it and connect it to the next PC, or use several external hard disks.

Back up via a cloud service or an external data carrier. If only something is defective in the other hardware, you can simply remove the HDD / SSD and connect it to another computer.
