Kali Linux which Wi-Fi adapter?

Since I'm interested in hacking (only on my own network) I wanted to buy a Linux laptop and install kali. But to hack my Wi-Fi you need a Wi-Fi adapter that you plug into the laptop. My question is now enough as one from the media market or rather order from the Internet?

Pe

You do not have to buy a Linux laptop, as well as every PC is linux compatible.

Atheros AR9271
Ralink RT3070
Ralink RT3572
Realtek 8187L (Wireless G adapters)

Realtek RTL8812AU (newly in 2017)

These are the compatible chipsets. Maybe your media market has such. Otherwise you just order one on the internet.

The Linux calculator would cost me only 60 euro is only an old think pad from lenovo but okay. Can I install kali synonymous on my Windows 10 computer if so how does it work? I heard that you can do it with a virtual program you know by chance what that means?

Pe

60 euro sounds really ok. Yes, you can also install Kali on your current computer. You probably mean VirtualBox or VM-Ware. If you do not know all that, Kali is not for you. Just as a pistol is not for children. With that you shoot yourself down to the knee. Look at a Linux like Mint or Ubuntu, you can't go wrong.

Af

Why in a VM, you can also install (Linux) next to your Windows 10 without destroying your Windows, then you hate a dualboot and can choose which operating system you want to boot.

Pe

Of course, the VM would be isolated from the network and the rest of the data. That's a big advantage.

Af

Why should that be an advantage? With a Linux distribution he is at least 100 times safer on the Internet.

Co

You both talk stupid things. Kali does not do well in a vm, but wants to start natively. And Kali is not 100 times more secure than anything but rather insecure, because you work as root by default (for good reasons) and can fully penetrate any attack.

Af

You can configurate root in Kali differently so that an attack just can't penetrate… That's the advantage with Kali… I also know that you should not install Kali because it is a system that is for Data Rescure-Forensics and Security and therefore only in live mode can do its job properly.

If he wants to install it anyway… His problem.

Pe

Kali denies quite a lot of network services, you're rooting, Kali does not just allow you to start programs, Kali has a lot of software installed that's not yet designed for your own safety, a couple of wrong clicks and you potentially shoot some illegal ones other devices. Of course you can remove all that, but there you sit longer than just taking a Debian. And after hours of work, you can't even be sure you've got everything.

Pe

Kali works wonderfully in a VM, as long as you do not want to start a long bruteforce that makes you better on a server anyway. Use it yourself for years.
