For some time I have a French pen pal with whom I communicate by letter, sometimes by e-mail. Well, I recently received an e-mail from her that was very strange to me. Every time there was a French accent that became a question mark. So it looks, for example. From:
Original text: Je m'appelle XXX (comme tu sais déjà), je suis née le XXX and je suis d'origine algérienne.
What I'm told: Je m? Appeals XXX (comme tu sais d? J?), Je suis n? E le XXX et je suis d? Origine alg? Rienne.
Does anyone know how I could fix that? My laptop is currently in Spanish, but actually that should not be a problem as some of the accents are in Spanish / Catalan. I use Outlook.
I would be very grateful for some advice / solutions!
This could be related to the displayed font.
This can have many causes, the first would be to look at the 'original text' (source) of the mail. In particular, to pay attention to the headers, whether they were already messed up on the transport.
Possibly. No encoding was set and Outlook assumes default (wrong) encoding.
