What to do with an old notebook with a broken display?

Hi. I have a notebook lying around here that normally works, only the display is broken. When I start the screen is white and it flickers. With an i3 processor, 4GB RAM and 1TB HDD it is not the newest and best. How can I still get the best profit from it?

Buy a new display and try to repair it yourself?
Selling it the way it is?
Unscrew the notebook and only sell the individual parts?

What other ideas do you have?

Make a profit? Well, offer it on Ebay. There will probably be a scrap value of 5 EUR. Do you have an idea of how many millions of old laptops are still moldy in drawers that still work properly and only have an expired operating system, which is why they were sorted out? No one needs.

First connect an external monitor to see if the rest is still going.

If you have fun, you can also convert Dus to a stand PC.

Operate headless as a server or i-netradio.

Right, an old notebook that is hardly used and still works perfectly, I could even use xD

If your laptop has an external connection such as a VGA, DVI or hdmi connector, you can use it to operate an external monitor. However, note that if you only have an old VGA connection on the laptop, you need vga> DVI or hdmi without an adapter in today's monitors. There are hardly any monitors with an outdated VGA connection.

Yes, I've done that before. It works. But I also noticed that the display is really broken because after a while it switched to the screen and you have no option to use two screens.

Stand PC well. As I said, it's not the best anymore.

Old HDDs are still sold for more than 15-20 euro. That's why I asked if you could remove the individual parts.

It was just about what you can do with it. I've already got good ideas apart from "junk".

I would swap the display if it was worth it for you.

It's pretty easy

El

Really? Also from the notebook?

I only know from PC's that replacing parts is easy.

Gl

Is also very easy in notebooks…

Especially at Lenovo

Okay, I have to inform myself, thanks ^^
