Hi so my laptop has 4GB RAM and I want to upgrade it to 8GB RAM. My old computer also had a 4GB RAM card in it. Couldn't I just install the one from my pc in my laptop, so that it just has 2ram cards?

laptop Model: 14-bs070ng

pc model: Aspire XC100

Only if the modules fit and the laptop can handle them at all.

Look in the manual of the laptop. That should clarify many questions.

I don't have it 😖

jo

The manual can be downloaded from the laptop manufacturer's homepage or at least there you can see the specifications for the usable RAM.

OK thanks

Computer RAM is usually longer than a laptop's RAM stick, so I don't think it will fit, but technically it is possible…

You can only connect more than 4GB RAM if you have a 64bit computer.

Gr

Where do you get this wisdom from? My 64-bit computer has 32 GB, and that's only because the motherboard can't anymore. Theoretically, 128 GB would also work, as it is also supported by Windows 10.

ju

So my laptop has 64Bit can I install the second one without any problems?

Gr

Do you really have to look in the description. Many laptops do not have a second RAM slot and sometimes they can't exceed 4 GB. Unfortunately, sometimes more GB than stated work. It is best to order RAM with a return guarantee and try it out.

ma

I mean with a 32bit computer you can use a maximum of 4GB, which is why the 32 bit comes at 32hoch2, which is around 4,000,000,000

Gr

So for me 32 to the power of 2 are only 1024 :-) but it could be because 2 to the power of 32 are about 4GB

Oops
