As the heading suggests, I'm looking for a KVM switch that can do the following:
I have a laptop and a desktop PC at my workplace (the desktop PC has its own monitor)
In addition, I have a larger monitor right next to it that can be used as a television
Now I'm looking for a switch that can combine these three devices for the following purposes:
With one click it should be possible to extend the laptop to the desktop monitor (i.e. Laptop system active, in this case desktop inactive) and vice versa (desktop system is displayed on the desktop monitor and also extended to the laptop)
Last but not least, it should be possible to display any of the two devices (laptop OR desktop) on the 3rd monitor (e.g. For Netflix / watching films)
So, I hope that was formulated fairly clearly on my part. The question now is what should I look out for when buying a switch (2 or 3 port etc.)?
I'm really looking forward to your answers and thank you MANY times in advance!
(P.S. All 3 devices have HDMI input).
The bottleneck is the ALL in One PC, this has no HMDI / display port interface because you can still tap "screen" PC >>> screen.
It is not suitable for what you plan to do.
So at least the models where I know from Lenovo and HP from the business area where I work in sales at a system house.
Firstly, thank you for the information. Well, but the monitor has several outputs (VGA DVI HDMI). Can't you link an output in the desktop (e.g. VGA) and the HDMI output in the switch?
