I would like to use my laptop as a screen for my Xbox. As far as we know, it's a One S. My laptop runs on Windows and I have the corresponding Xbox app there, but I can't find the option to allow streaming in the Xbox settings. Is that even possible with my console? And if so, how?
Alternatively, I would want to connect the Xbox to the laptop using an HDMI cable. The laptop has no HDMI input, only one output. Is there a corresponding adapter? (Laptop has no USB 3.0)
Just wait until next year until Microsoft makes console streaming and Xcloud generally available on PC. You can either stream your One S via Wi-Fi (which still requires internet)
Or you can use Xcloud right away, where you can experience the performance of a Series X from next year. (At the moment the server blades at Xcloud also consist of Xbox One S consoles)
Ergo: Buying such an HDMI to USB adapter now makes no sense anyway. Better get a mobile monitor (looks like a tablet) or a small monitor, which is usually more convenient and in the best case even cheaper than an adapter.
