Laptop suddenly extremely slow on the Internet, what can that be?

My laptop has been extremely slow on the internet for a few days now. You can't think about YouTube or downloading a file.

I have the device only since February, there are hardly any data on it. On the PC I do not have these problems, only on the laptop. Operating system is Windows 10.

Does anyone have any idea why this might be?

gr

Open the Task Manager and then click on "more details" and then on "Performance".

Qu

I put a photo in it.

ta

That can be due to anything.
More can't be deduced from your description.
Also not from the Task Manager pictures.
As you certainly realize the "answerers" poke in the dark at best.

If the internet is slow, then that is a reason to call your network provider. (In the hope that you have kept LAN and Internet apart on your question!)

Qu

What the hell? Is it normal for Firefox to be listed that often?!

Found culprit. Firefox opens a new process for each new tab, and in conjunction with a Windows function, these programs slow down: https://www.chip.de/...72218.html The same thing is done by the Chrome browser (referred to in the article). A patch for the problem is in the works and should come in the coming weeks.

gr

But this is not sorted by the CPU load. You could try to uninstall Avira. You do not need that anyway, since you already have the Windows Defender on it. If two virus scanners run at the same time, this can cause problems, e.g. Reduce the speed.

Qu

Great thing, and completely illogical! I currently have exactly three tabs, not seven. Is really annoying. I can't even open a video on YouTube because of that. In the coming weeks? That may take some time, great -.

Qu

So, have it sorted again after CPU sorted…

Qu

Very helpful - not! As already mentioned, on the PC I do not have these problems. Accordingly, it is the device, and not the Internet itself!

gr

So I suspect that the browser without Avira is much faster. The Windows bug only causes a short delay when opening a web page of less than 1 second and is therefore probably not the reason.

Qu

And why have I never had this problem before and also on all previous PCs and laptops despite Avira?

gr

No idea. Maybe Avira also has some kind of malfunction. In any case, it should not constantly draw so much CPU power.

An answer can only be as helpful as the question of information offers.
Especially since you have now indirectly admitted yourself that you can't distinguish between LAN and Internet. (see second paragraph)
So touch yourself if you get answers.

If there are no problems on the PC and it is in the same LAN as the laptop, then count 1 and 1 together, on which device or LAN cable is located.

To answer your question, taking into account your current Reatktion: No, your Internet connection is not slow. Wrong interpretation of the cause of error on your part.

ke

Each addon gets its own process plus the main process that manages everything. So I would guess 3 tabs, 3 addons and the main process.

And where exactly is my question of LAN?
