I wanted to install W10 on my laptop but always the error comes:

"No new partition could be created or an existing partition found. […]"

On the laptop was previously linux this has worked 1a!

The HDD (Diskpart) was patched and formatted.

The error still occurs.

In BIOS bootup:

1. USB stick

da

Did you format it with NTFS?

Ca

Go on youtube, is certainly a helpful video, to your problem

gu

Unfortunately, I do not know what NTFS is you can explain it? Do you have to set something in the BIOS

gu

The USB stick of which was installed is on FAT format

da

You wrote that you have formatted the HDD. That should be as NTFS as possible for Windows. You can usually choose this when formatting.

gu

I have formatted about diskpart because you can't select anything or?

da

Diskpart is a Windows tool and should probably format NTFS. Maybe you'll try it again with GParted.

gu

The device is older can it be that it is?

da

It does not necessarily depend on age. But what do you want to install on a PC necessarily Windows 10? Linux ran smoothly, as you said.

gu

Since I want to use programs that are not available on Linux (Discord, Anno 1602, Anno 1701, etc.)

Which instructions do you recommend? The links would be nice.

Ca

So first you have to check if your laptop is Windows 10 compatible at all! I do not think so

then install windows 8 again:-)

ap

Linux Mint is clearly superior to a non-free Win 8 or 10 and costs nothing, this is a good alternative to commercial winos. There's no need to check out whether outdated proprietary payment software is up and running.

Maybe the questioner would like to make good use of the computer and not have a Windows problem at all costs.

Incidentally, there's no need for a virus scanner for secure operating systems such as Linux (says BSI) and equipping good program versions with full versions is terrific on Linux.

If the questioner might have the stale old Win running, he will soon realize where the misjudged advantages of free Linux - he is indeed experience.

Which instructions do you recommend for the helpful video? The links would be nice.
