I've posted this question before but here again in much more detail. My external hard drive is recognized by Windows 10, so when I connect it I get a USB stick with a green tick at the bottom. When I go to the ^ This PC ^ folder, the disk is not shown to me! The disc is full of very important data and I only try tips where you don't have to format anything or where you can lose your data.
I also connected it to another laptop, but it doesn't appear in ^ This PC ^ either.
Go to the partition management and see if it is normal there.
Have a look at the hard disk utility or what that means, if it is recognized there
Hey there I'm right now and it is blue and shows no problems!
Yes it is recognized there
Probably only the assignment is missing.
Assign Google times after "disk management" and drive letter.
If I want to add a letter or do something with the plate then I can't, if I right click everything will be shown but in gray so not clickable.
Give Linux a try
I don't have Linux
Do you have a .Mac?
Then right click on it and press assign letters or something
Then the formatting / partitioning is probably not correct. You won't get around reformatting the record flat.
Go through the steps
You have to open the disk management as administrator - is it then, or is it still grayed out?
For me, an external hard drive was also recognized, because I reinstalled the Intel chipset and then it worked again
Ne solved the problem thanks!
OK
I solved the problem thanks!
